Besides the practical aspects of music, the theoretical side is equally important for the flautist. Music has existed for many centuries, which is why it can be thoroughly analyzed, researched, and examined. Therefore, Madlen Poguntke is currently pursuing doctorates in both musicology and music education.
She has already collaborated on music editions, written her own scientific works and moderated concerts; this includes a concert introduction by the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra to Wagner's Walküre.
She also works as a journalist for nmz (neue musikzeitung), writing reviews and conducting interviews with personalities in the classical music scene.
